Individuals To Compete For Gold At Signature HealthCARE Senior Olympics

JULY 22, 2019

Lebanon, IN – July 22, 2019 – Individuals at three Signature HealthCARE Indiana locations are defying age and going head-to-head in a little friendly competition at the annual Senior Olympics games on Thursday, July 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The three participating facilities include Signature HealthCARE at Parkwood (Team All American), Signature HealthCARE of Lafayette (Team Lafayette Wheelers), and Signature HealthCARE of Terre Haute (Team We Got This).

Senior Olympics is one of several unique quality of life initiatives Signature hosts to lead radical change across the healthcare landscape. It’s an event that residents look forward to annually. Part of the excitement is earning a participation certificate that many residents proudly hang in their room. Teams practice months in advance and work hard to earn the title of Senior Olympics Champion.

“Residents have been anticipating this day since May! Senior Olympics allows a space where the fun, competitive spirit comes out of our residents,” said Linzi Rodgers, Regional Quality of Life Director. “Our residents have the opportunity to get out of their home and into another one of our Signature homes, which is an experience in itself.  New relationships are formed between the athletes – the entire day is an experience where memories are made.”

With this year’s theme of “TV & Film,” a new competition will be added. Each of the participating facilities will perform a skit of their choosing in hopes of earning bragging rights and the prize for “Best Skit.” Along with the skit, residents will also compete in a cornhole competition, volleyball, and a basketball shoot-off.

Aside from the overall team winner and “Best Skit”, a volleyball team champion will also be recognized. Individual awards will be given away as well, including Overall Athlete, Cornhole Champion, and Basketball Shoot-off Champion.

Stay tuned to see who will be crowned the 2019 Champion for the Senior Olympics Games.
